Jiaxing Nanhu Airport in East China's Zhejiang province is set to launch three new direct flights to Nanning, Changsha, and Urumqi on March 29, further expanding its domestic flight network.

With these new routes, the airport will serve 16 cities, including Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xi'an, and Chengdu. Its rapid growth underscores the region's strong momentum in developing an aviation hub.

The General Administration of Customs of China approved the temporary opening of the airport to international cargo on Feb 10, marking a new phase in its global operations. The airport is now accelerating the creation of an international air freight network covering markets in Asia and Europe. By 2026, YTO Express plans to operate eight freighters out of Jiaxing, with 11 international cargo routes connecting cities including Budapest and Seoul.

The airport's expanding network is boosting its industrial appeal. Twelve aviation logistics projects were launched in the Jiaxing Airport Economic Zone on Jan 27, focusing on cross-border trade and smart logistics solutions. These projects have attracted industry leaders, including Fortune 500 companies and global supply chain giants, creating an efficient and intelligent global logistics network.

Foreign investors are also seizing the opportunity. On Feb 27, Zhejiang Yukong Cross-border E-commerce was registered as the first foreign-invested company in the Jiaxing Airport Economic Zone, with a capital investment of $100 million. The company plans to help local businesses expand into the Japanese market.
