International tennis event boosts Jiaxing's tourism and profile

The 2026 ITF World Tennis Masters Tour MT200 Zhejiang Rongtai-Jiaxing, which concluded on April 5 at the Jiaxing International Tennis Center in the city's Nanhu district, drew players and visitors while bolstering local tourism.

Beyond the competition, the event hosted a city promotion program, introduced "masters tour" experiences that allowed participants to explore Jiaxing's water town heritage alongside the tournament, and held a supporting market that combined local food, cultural products, and sports-related goods.

Many players and visitors also toured the district's landmarks during breaks, reinforcing the event's connection with regional culture.

Jiaxing International Tennis Center received positive feedback for its facilities and operations. A renovation project scheduled for May will upgrade the central venue and outdoor training areas, and add a professional livestreaming center and four pickleball courts to expand hosting capacity for high-level tournaments.

The center plans to include more international and youth events, alongside public training programs and local leagues, aiming to convert short-term event traffic into sustained public participation and long-term urban vitality.
