The 2026 Yangtze River Delta Athletics Diamond Gala (Shanghai/Shaoxing's Keqiao district) held a news conference on April 9 to announce the list of 44 participants. The 2026 World Athletics Diamond Gala will take place on May 16 at the Keqiao China Textile City Sports Center and will open with a competition.

A total of 22 Olympic and World Championships winners will compete in the event, including five world record holders. Zhejiang-born athletes such as Xi Xiaoheng and Wu Yanni will also participate, both stating that they will strive for even better performances.
The event features 16 athletic disciplines, including men's 100 meters, 800 meters, 3,000 meters, pole vault, long jump, and discus, as well as women's 200 meters, 400 meters, 1,500 meters, 5,000 meters, 100-meter hurdles, 3000-meter steeplechase, long jump, and shot put. The men's 300-meter hurdles is a newly added event, making its debut in Keqiao.
The Yangtze River Delta Athletics Diamond Gala was held in Keqiao for the first time in 2025, attracting nearly 17,000 spectators and boosting cultural, sports, and tourism consumption. This year, ticket prices will remain unchanged, ranging from 80 to 580 yuan ($81).
