War broke out suddenly on Iran on Feb 28. Many Middle Eastern countries closed their airspace and suspended airport operations, leaving tens of thousands of passengers stranded.
At this critical moment, the Chinese Embassy in Iran opened evacuation channels immediately. Travelers took a 6 to 8-hour bus ride from Tehran to the border between Iran and Azerbaijan.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on March 10, more than 10,000 Chinese citizens have returned safely and in an orderly manner from countries including the UAE and Oman.
