Chinese ink artist Wu Limin from Taizhou in East China's Zhejiang province presented his works at Eastern Daybreak, a special invitation exhibition at the 61st Venice Biennale in Italy, from May 10 to 19.

The exhibition brought together more than 60 Chinese artists from around the world, exploring Eastern artistic traditions and contemporary cultural expression through painting, sculpture, and mixed media.

Wu, born in Taizhou in 1939, is known for his expressive ink landscape paintings and is regarded as a representative figure in contemporary impressionist ink works. Influenced by traditional Chinese painting and decades of travel across China, his works combine bold brushwork, flowing ink techniques, and natural scenery with a highly personal artistic style.

His paintings have previously been exhibited at institutions including the Art Museum of the China Academy of Art and Peking University. A 14-meter-long landscape scroll by Wu was also featured in an exhibition at the Louvre Museum in Paris, France, to mark the country's 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations with China.
