Xilong township in Anji county, Huzhou, Zhejiang province — known as the core production area for Anji baicha, a type of green tea — has become a thriving hub for innovation and cultural tourism.

This area once faced challenges with its seasonal economy, relying heavily on the brief spring harvest. However, a turning point came in 2019 when Shanghai Aijia Group launched the Anji Hood project in collaboration with the local government to build a cultural and tourism complex centered on Anji baicha.

By attracting young talent through innovative concepts such as the "digital nomad" community, Xilong township has become a hotspot for remote work and entrepreneurship. The community offers affordable, high-quality living and working spaces, drawing more than 15,000 young people over the past five years.

Moreover, the project transformed idle rural spaces into immersive cultural and tourism destinations. Notable is the One Leaf Tea Drink venue, a popular attraction offering sweeping views of the vast expanse of tea fields through its floor-to-ceiling windows.

This approach has led to a steady year-round influx of visitors, boosting local businesses and improving the villagers' quality of life.

At the heart of this transformation is the diversification of the Anji baicha industry. By exploring new product lines, such as skincare and artisanal goods, the project has expanded the Anji baicha market beyond traditional boundaries. This comprehensive development model not only boosts local economic growth but also drives sustainable rural development.
