Huzhou in Zhejiang province, known for its silk and tea culture, has quietly emerged as a key exporter of fresh-cut flowers and branches, including plum branches, Adinandra millettii branches, and East Asian eurya branches.

In the first two months of 2026, Huzhou exported 14 batches of fresh-cut flowers and branches, totaling 2.66 million yuan ($385,634).

A shipment of fresh-cut plum branches from Anji Chuanghe Horticulture, valued at 100,000 yuan, has passed inspection by Huzhou Customs and received a phytosanitary certificate, set for export.

"From harvest to export, the entire process can take as little as two to three days," said Lin Long, general manager of Anji Chuanghe Horticulture. "Thanks to efficient services and precise guidance from Huzhou Customs, we can swiftly deliver our finest flower branches to international markets."

In 2025, the company's exports of fresh-cut flowers surpassed 26 million yuan, a 38 percent increase from the previous year, with products shipped to countries and regions across Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia.

Huzhou Customs has enhanced export efficiency by deploying professional quarantine officials to guide compliance with international phytosanitary standards. It has also opened a "green channel" for expedited processing, ensuring that each fresh-cut flower reaches its destination in prime condition.

The "cloud issuance" system further streamlines the procedure by enabling online processing and self-printing of phytosanitary certificates, thereby enhancing both efficiency and convenience.
