11月2日至5日，以“开放融通·共生机遇”为主题的“2026世界市长对话·宁波”活动在浙江省宁波市举行。翻开参会城市和地区名单，会发现不少看似遥远的名字，早已与宁波结下友谊；还有一些城市，虽然相隔万里，却拥有相似的发展基因。港口、帆船、藏书楼……一项项相似的城市禀赋，串起了跨越山海的共同话题。
The 2026 Global Mayors Dialogue · Ningbo is being held in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, from Nov 2 to 5 under the theme “Openness and Connectivity for Shared Opportunities”. A look at the list of participating cities and regions reveals that many already have longstanding friendships with Ningbo. Others, though thousands of miles away, share similar strengths and foundations for development. Ports, sailing, and historic libraries—these shared features offer starting points for conversations across oceans and continents.

Prospering through Maritime Trade: Ports Provide a Common Language
对于宁波、马来西亚巴生、埃及苏伊士和法国鲁昂而言，理解城市，可以从港口与航道开始。一个连接生产与市场的港口，带来的不仅是船舶和货物，也是产业发展的机会。
To understand Ningbo in China, Klang in Malaysia, Suez in Egypt, and Rouen in France, start with their ports and waterways. By connecting producers with markets, a port brings more than ships and cargo: it creates opportunities for industries to grow.
宁波舟山港通过密集航线连接全球市场，苏伊士运河连接红海与地中海，是国际海运的重要通道。地处苏伊士省的中埃·泰达苏伊士经贸合作区，如今已是与埃及“苏伊士运河走廊经济带”建设对接的示范项目。对这些面向世界的港口城市和地区而言，如何让通道优势转化为发展动力，是值得交流的话题。
Ningbo-Zhoushan Port connects with global markets through an extensive network of shipping routes. The Suez Canal, linking the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, is a vital artery of international shipping. The China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone in Suez Governorate has become a model project aligned with the development of Egypt’s Suez Canal Corridor Economic Belt. For these globally connected port cities and regions, a shared topic of discussion is how to turn their transport advantages into drivers of development.

同样的，宁波与巴生的共同话题，也已经从码头延伸到经贸与产业。今年5月13日，宁波—巴生经贸产业合作交流会在巴生举行，中马两国政府、经贸及产业界近百位代表，围绕经贸对接与产业合作平台展开探讨。从港口相连到产业对接，两地的往来有着看得见的落点。
The conversation between Ningbo and Klang has already extended beyond the docks to trade and industry. A Ningbo–Klang meeting on economic, trade, and industrial cooperation was held in Klang on May 13 this year. Nearly 100 representatives from government, business, and industry in China and Malaysia discussed ways to strengthen business links and develop platforms for industrial cooperation. From port links to industrial cooperation, exchanges between the two cities are producing tangible results.

把目光转向法国鲁昂，它与宁波的共同话题又多了一层“绿色”。宁波与鲁昂于1990年正式缔结友好城市关系。30多年来，两座港口城市在经贸、文化、教育等领域持续开展交流合作。近年来，绿色航运又成为两地合作的新方向。2025年5月，双方在海丝港口合作论坛期间正式签署合作协议；今年5月，宁波舟山港又与HAROPA等签署绿色航运走廊建设协议，把“绿色航运”写进两港合作未来。
Ningbo’s relationship with Rouen in France has also taken on a green dimension. The two cities established a sister-city relationship in 1990 and have maintained exchanges and cooperation in trade, culture, education, and other fields for more than three decades. In recent years, green shipping has emerged as a new area of cooperation. In May 2025, Ningbo-Zhoushan Port and HAROPA PORT signed a cooperation agreement during the Maritime Silk Road Port Cooperation Forum. This May, they joined other partners in signing a green shipping corridor initiative, making greener shipping a priority for their future cooperation.
船舶靠岸后如何少排放，海运与内河运输如何衔接，清洁燃料如何走进航运日常……港口的竞争力，越来越需要用绿色来衡量。从东海之滨到塞纳河流域，两地既有贸易往来的需求，也面对着低碳转型的共同课题。
How can ships reduce emissions while berthed? How can maritime and inland waterway transport be better connected? How can clean fuels become part of everyday shipping operations? A port’s competitiveness increasingly depends on its environmental performance. From the shores of the East China Sea to the Seine basin, the two cities are linked by trade and face the shared challenge of moving toward a low-carbon future.
亲近海洋 一面帆也能牵起友谊
A Shared Love of the Sea: Sailing Strengthens Friendships
海洋给城市带来的，不只有贸易，还有运动与生活方式。新西兰奥克兰有“帆船之都”的美誉，宁波也正在通过帆船运动，让更多人走近海洋。
The sea shapes more than a city’s trade; it also influences its sporting culture and way of life. Auckland, New Zealand, is known as the “City of Sails”, while Ningbo is encouraging more people to experience the sea through sailing.
两地的友好关系可以追溯至1998年宁波与新西兰怀特克里市结好。怀特克里并入奥克兰后，奥克兰于2012年与宁波签署继续发展友好城市关系协议书。帆船则为这份友谊增添了鲜活细节：中国宁波一号帆船队里，活跃着新西兰籍教练和船员的身影。2023年赛船回到宁波母港时，来自新西兰的乔纳森·兰金就与中国船员一同驾船驶入梅山湾。
The friendship between the two cities dates back to 1998, when Ningbo established sister-city relations with Waitakere in New Zealand. After Waitakere became part of Auckland, Auckland and Ningbo signed an agreement in 2012 to continue developing those ties.
Sailing has given this friendship a more personal dimension, with New Zealand coaches and crew members playing active roles in the ChinaOne.Ningbo sailing team. When the team’s racing yacht returned to its home port in Ningbo in 2023, New Zealander Jonathan Rankine sailed into Meishan Bay alongside Chinese crew members.

共同的爱好，也在创造新的合作机会。今年10月，宁波市政府代表团赴奥克兰参加创新周“国际日”专场推介会，推动两地在体育制造、帆船游艇、户外运动等领域深化交流。
That shared enthusiasm is also creating new opportunities for cooperation. A Ningbo municipal government delegation attended an “International Day” promotional event during Auckland Startup Week 2026 in October, seeking to deepen exchanges between the two cities in sports equipment manufacturing, sailing and yachting, and outdoor sports.

Shared Dedication to Preserving Cultural Heritage: Historic Libraries Open New Conversations
如果说港口是宁波面向世界的门户，天一阁便是读懂这座城市的另一扇窗。而在意大利佛罗伦萨，也有一座延续数百年书香的美第奇洛伦佐图书馆。如何让古老典籍和文化记忆传给下一代，是两座城市共同的关切。
If Ningbo’s port is its gateway to the world, Tianyige offers another window into the city. In Florence, Italy, the Laurentian Library has also preserved a rich literary heritage for centuries. Both cities share a concern: how to pass historic texts and cultural memory on to future generations.
2022年，宁波天一阁博物院院长与佛罗伦萨美第奇洛伦佐图书馆馆长、马拉特斯塔图书馆馆长举行云端对话，并签署《宁波共识》，就书楼保护、藏书研究和藏书文化传播开展合作。
In 2022, the director of Ningbo’s Tianyige Museum joined the directors of the Laurentian Library in Florence and the Malatestiana Library for an online dialogue. They signed the Ningbo Consensus, agreeing to work together to preserve historic libraries, study their collections, and promote public awareness of book-collecting traditions.
这样的对话还在延续。2025年6月，天一阁博物院又连线佛罗伦萨的米开朗基罗故居博物馆，围绕艺术精神和文化传承展开交流。一边守护东方典籍，一边保存文艺复兴艺术遗产，两地的共同语言，是让历史留在今天，也让今天的人走近历史。
These exchanges continued in June 2025, when Tianyige Museum held an online dialogue with Florence’s Casa Buonarroti Museum on artistic spirit and passing cultural heritage on to future generations. While one safeguards historic Chinese texts and the other preserves Renaissance art, both work to keep history alive and help people today connect with the past.
书香也沿着海上航线走得更远。在印度洋西岸的马达加斯加塔马塔夫市，宁波大学与当地大学合作办学。2025年，宁波天一阁博物院“我陪孩子读经典”研学出海活动走进当地，让中国传统文化与非洲青少年相遇。从典籍保护到中文教育，跨越山海的文化交流，正在不同城市间延续。
Ningbo’s literary ties also extend across the Indian Ocean to Africa. In Tamatave, Madagascar, Ningbo University offers educational programs in partnership with a local university. In 2025, Tianyige Museum brought its overseas educational outreach program, “Reading the Classics with My Child”, to the city, introducing young Africans to traditional Chinese culture. From preserving historic texts to teaching Chinese, these exchanges continue to connect cities across oceans and continents.

城与城的相知，有时始于宏大的贸易网络，有时也可以从一本书、一件艺术品开始。而在这份跨越山海的城市名单中，还有更多新的相遇值得期待。
Cities can get to know one another through vast trading networks or through a single book or work of art, and this dialogue, involving cities from around the world, will offer many more opportunities to build new connections and strengthen existing ties.
同样与海洋相伴，马尔代夫拉穆环礁、毛里求斯路易港拥有丰富的海洋资源，贝宁科托努、柬埔寨西哈努克以及黎巴嫩赛义达有着各自的港口发展故事。海洋经济、港航物流、滨海文旅……这些城市和地区，都能与宁波找到共同的话题。
Like Ningbo, Laamu Atoll in the Maldives and Port Louis in Mauritius have close ties to the sea and abundant marine resources. Cotonou in Benin, Sihanoukville in Cambodia, and Saida in Lebanon have different port development experiences to share. These cities and regions can exchange ideas with Ningbo on the marine economy, port and shipping logistics, coastal culture and tourism, and more.
不靠海的城市，也有自己的精彩。摩洛哥拉希迪耶坐落于撒哈拉沙漠边缘，以绿洲农业和沙漠旅游闻名；北马其顿佩赫切沃拥有森林、瀑布与山地风光；奥地利维也纳新城在教育、科技等领域具有特色。还有哥斯达黎加阿拉胡埃拉，以及黎巴嫩赫尔梅勒、马杰杜伦，也能从现代农业、特色产业、生态文旅和城市发展中寻找与宁波交流的切入点。
Inland cities have distinctive strengths of their own. Errachidia in Morocco lies on the edge of the Sahara and is known for oasis agriculture and desert tourism. Pehčevo in North Macedonia offers forests, waterfalls, and mountain scenery, while Wiener Neustadt in Austria stands out in education, science, and technology. Alajuela in Costa Rica, along with Hermel and Majdelyoun in Lebanon, can also explore opportunities for exchanges with Ningbo in modern agriculture, distinctive local industries, nature-based and cultural tourism, and urban development.
有的城市与宁波已经相识数十年，有的城市则可能通过这次对话开启新的联系。不同的地理环境、产业特色与文化传统，恰恰为城市间的互学互鉴创造了更多可能。
Some cities have maintained ties with Ningbo for decades; others may forge new connections through this dialogue. Their different geographies, industrial strengths, and cultural traditions give them more to share—and more to learn from one another.
当这些城市代表来到宁波，他们既带来各自的经验，也将遇见熟悉的议题。向海而兴、守护文脉、拥抱交流——跨越不同经纬度的城市，将在宁波继续寻找彼此可以携手前行的方向。
When their representatives arrive in Ningbo, they will bring their own experiences and find familiar topics to discuss. From maritime development to cultural preservation and international exchange, cities from across the globe will explore new ways to move forward together.
