The 2026 Zhejiang China Intangible Cultural Heritage Exchange Event and the Fangyan Temple Fair opened on Oct 13 in Fangyan town, Jinhua, Zhejiang province, drawing tens of thousands of visitors.
More than 300 inheritors are presenting over 500 intangible cultural heritage projects, with more than 8,000 product categories on display.
This year's Fangyan Temple Fair, a national-level intangible cultural heritage project, marks its first integration with the provincial exchange event.
The event features four linked zones: the Fangyan tourism distribution center, Yanxia Old Street, Wufeng Academy, and the summit of Fangyan Mountain. Six themed exhibition areas also cover heritage showcases, craft experiences, specialty goods, and food markets.
Yanxia Old Street, one of Zhejiang's first intangible cultural heritage-themed blocks, has become an open exhibition space, with more than 20 workshops lining the ancient alley and featuring Longquan celadon, copper art, Wuzhou kiln ceramics, and Jinhua nut carving.
Artisans craft their works in front of visitors, while the old stage hosts Haining shadow puppetry, Pingyang puppet shows, and Songyang Gaoqiang Opera.
The event runs until Oct 18, with traditional sports performances, classic operas, a long-table banquet, and a bench dragon parade to follow.
