More than 50 livestreamers from countries including Italy, Kazakhstan, Uganda, Egypt, and Peru visited the Yiwu Global Digital Trade Center and the Yiwu Selection brand store on Oct 20 in Jinhua, Zhejiang province. Their goal was to help promote Yiwu products to global buyers through cross-border livestreams.
The event began at 9:30 am, with the livestreamers starting from the fashion jewelry area of the trade center and moving through different floors and sections. They showcased creative goods, smart technology products, and fashion items, giving overseas audiences an immersive view of the Yiwu market through multilingual broadcasts.
They later visited the Yiwu Selection brand store, a centralized sales window for quality small commodities that brings together 250 companies and more than 300 brands. The store has opened 10 overseas outlets, including one in Kenya, covering five continents. Its one-stop brand gathering and overseas expansion services impressed international buyers.
He Lihong, one of the store's founders, said organizing international livestreamers to visit the market helps raise Yiwu brands' visibility and boosts merchants' confidence in entering into overseas markets.
The event generated more than 70 hours of cross-border livestreaming and about 100,000 overseas views on the day. From the offline "world's supermarket" to an online "global livestream room", Yiwu is widening new paths for small commodities to reach global markets.
