Zhejiang Macro-Solar Technology, based in Pinghu, a county-level city in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, has secured a 700,000-euro ($784,130) order from an Italian customer for 18 containers of photovoltaic-thermal (PVT) products.
The company's PVT system generates electricity and heats water simultaneously, saving roof space and reducing installation and maintenance costs.
At a university dormitory project in Shandong province, the company installed 630 PVT panels and supporting systems, which produce 63 metric tons of hot water daily and generate 234,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. This saves 2,934.2 tons of standard coal and cuts carbon dioxide emissions by 8,919.1 tons a year.
Its products are also used in rural renovation, campus dormitories, hotels, and power station projects in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, Xizang autonomous region, and Gansu province.
The company is testing equipment at its new factory. Its production lines, representing an investment of more than 50 million yuan, are expected to raise annual capacity fivefold, from 200 megawatts to 1 gigawatt.
