The assembly workshop at Geely's Linhai facility in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, was bustling with activity as workers rushed to fulfill overseas orders on Oct 8.
Robotic arms and automated guided vehicles (AGVs) worked in tandem, with a Geely Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i rolling off the assembly line every 55 seconds.
From January to August, the facility recorded more than 130,000 export orders. About 90 percent of its current orders come from overseas, spanning six regions: Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Africa, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East.
The facility uses radio-frequency identification (RFID) chips, AI-based error prevention, and a manufacturing execution system (MES) to support flexible production.
Its production line can provide customized models for more than 120 countries and regions and seamlessly switch between left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive models to meet different market needs.
