A white sedan stalled after entering a flooded section of road, leaving those inside unable to get out. Police auxiliary officer Shen Xiong had just finished work when he noticed the people inside were in danger. He promptly climbed over a roadside barrier and swam toward the vehicle. Delivery rider Li Yong'an also entered the water to help out.

The water had reached about waist height for an adult when Li reached the car and carried a young girl from the back seat through the deep water toward safety. Another delivery rider waiting by the roadside reached out and took the girl, helping move her to safety.
