Director-General of ICCROM: Cultural heritage should be driver of socioeconomic development

The 4th Liangzhu Forum opened in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, on Oct 18. Aruna Francesca Maria Gujral, Director-General of the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM), said that cultural heritage should not be seen merely as a niche sector, but as an important driver of socioeconomic development and better lives.

10月18日，第四届“良渚论坛”在浙江省杭州市开幕。国际文化财产保护与修复研究中心总干事阿鲁娜·古吉拉尔在接受浙江省国际传播中心记者采访时说，文化遗产不应被视为一个小众领域，而应成为推动社会经济发展、改善人民生活的重要力量。她认为，良渚论坛这样的国际交流平台，有助于推动这一理念得到更广泛的认同与实践。 开幕式上，中国国家文物局与国际文化财产保护与修复研究中心签署了合作谅解备忘录。
