The year 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of the sister-province relationship between Zhejiang Province and West Flanders, Belgium. Following the release of the documentary A Bridge of Promise by Zhejiang Daily Press Group, Zhejiang International Communication Center, and Belgian Focus & WTV, a series of short videos titled A Bridge of Promise: Their Stories has been launched. These videos showcase the achievements and heartwarming stories of cooperation between the two provinces.
The third episode focuses on healthcare. The two provinces have frequent exchanges in healthcare with mutual visits by experts, shared technologies and ever-closer collaboration.
In 2018, Xu Jingjing, Deputy Chief Radiologist, Department of Radiology at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine (SAHZU), joined a three-month academic exchange at two hospitals in West Flanders, Belgium. In 2024, she wend to Belgium to attend an academic conference on radiology. "The Belgian colleagues were very warm-hearted and friendly towards the Chinese," Xu said. "There are many similarities between our cultures, and that experience was truly invaluable to me."
In October 2023, a delegation from West Flanders visited the SAHZU, where both sides exchanged insights on teleradiology consultations and digital healthcare.
2025年是浙江省和比利时西弗兰德省结好25周年。浙江日报报业集团、浙江省国际传播中心联合比利时Focus&WTV，推出专题片《风雨架桥人》后，又推出系列短视频《架桥人说》，以亲历者讲述的方式，展现两省合作成果和温暖故事。第三期视频，聚焦医疗领域，两省互派专家、共享技术、交流频繁，合作不断深化。
2018年，浙江大学医学院附属第二医院放射科副主任医师许晶晶经浙江省科协选拔，赴比利时西弗兰德省两家医院进行为期3个月左右的学习交流；2024年，她再赴比利时参加放射医学的学术会议。“比利时同行非常热情，对中国人也十分友好，”许晶晶回忆，“两国文化有不少相通之处，那段经历对我弥足珍贵。”
2023年10月，比利时西弗兰德省代表团参观浙大二院，双方就远程影像会诊、数字化医疗等进行交流，让“惠民桥”从纸面走向“云端”，把25年友谊转化为看得见的获得感。
