An international musicians' residency event has recently been held in Hushan township in Lishui's Suichang county, Zhejiang province.
Musicians from top art institutions in Russia, Canada, the United States, and other countries gathered at a fluorite mine located 200 meters under the ground at the Suichang Geocentric World Scenic Area.
Using the mine's natural acoustics, they staged an underground saxophone performance, with renowned saxophonists performing classical pieces alongside improvised works.
The cave's natural acoustics allowed the music to reverberate throughout the space, blending with the sounds of dripping water and a flowing underground river. Richard Dirlam, a professor from Minnesota, said he enjoyed the performance, noting how the underground space accentuated the music.
