State Council approves Jiaxing Comprehensive Bonded Zone expansion

The State Council has approved the expansion of Jiaxing Comprehensive Bonded Zone, adding a 0.17-square-kilometer area northeast of Jiaxing Nanhu Airport to strengthen the city's capacity for high-level opening-up. The new area will address gaps in bonded facilities around the airport and strengthen links with the airport's air cargo port and the cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone.

Infrastructure development and investment promotion are underway, with the area expected to meet completion requirements by the end of the year. It will focus on industries including bonded maintenance of aircraft equipment, precision component manufacturing, and cross-border consumer trade, with 24 bonded projects already signed. Following the expansion, the zone will have a planned area of 2.51 sq km, forming a "one zone, three areas" layout.

The Jiaxing Comprehensive Bonded Zone is home to more than 100 enterprises, with a bonded import and export value of 16.49 billion yuan ($2.45 billion) in 2025, supporting employment for more than 15,000 people. The zone has been rated a national Class A comprehensive bonded zone for three consecutive years, while its bonded maintenance services outside the zone have set a national precedent.
