Jiaxing fruit market to expand with new trading complex

A global fruit trading project to expand Jiaxing's fruit wholesale market secured land on Sept 29, paving the way for new fruit processing, e-commerce, procurement, and logistics facilities.

Founded in 1992, the Jiaxing Fruit Market covers 36 hectares and has 681 merchants. Its annual transaction value exceeded 62.1 billion yuan ($9.27 billion) in 2025, ranking it first among China's specialized fruit wholesale markets.

The market is advancing its digital transformation. The Jiaxing-China Fruit Index provides real-time reference prices and trend analysis. Its product-tracking system covers nearly 600 types of fruit and extends to more than 80 percent of the country's distribution points. A central platform also provides producers with targeted orders and helps buyers access supply, traceability, and logistics information.

Within the Jiaxing Fruit Market, the Haiguangxing Premium Fruit Trading Center serves as East China's largest tropical fruit distribution hub. To extend its supply chain, a Haiguangxing fruit market opened in Kunming in April, linking the two cities in a dual-hub network.
