The China-Indonesia Symposium on Traditional Medicine Research took place on Aug 20 at the Jinhua Academy of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University in Jinhua, Zhejiang province.
Before the symposium, the Indonesian delegation toured the academy's exhibition hall and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) public technology service platform, gaining insights into the academy's advancements in research platform construction, new drug development, and result transformation.
Both parties introduced their respective research focuses and specialties during the symposium, exploring potential collaborations in modernizing traditional medicine and result transformation.
A representative from the Jinhua science and technology bureau highlighted the long history and rich practical experience of both TCM and Jamu (Indonesian traditional medicine), identifying numerous commonalities in research methodologies and interdisciplinary integration, and reaching a consensus for cooperation.
The academy signed strategic cooperation agreements with Indonesia's Universitas Gadjah Mada and the University of Surabaya, aiming to utilize complementary strengths in medicinal plant resources and research platforms to advance international cooperation in modernizing traditional medicine and contributions to the global presence of TCM.
