Taizhou brings together 177 youths for cultural exchange

The "Hehe Pomegranate Seed" youth exchange program between Taizhou and its partner regions opened on Aug 18, bringing together 177 students and teachers from eight regions in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, and Sichuan and Qinghai provinces for a five-day exchange program in Taizhou, Zhejiang province.

Drawing on Taizhou's Hehe culture and the "Zhejiang Pomegranate Red" brand, the program combines sports, Hehe culture, and science and technology studies. At the opening ceremony, the youths jointly read a pledge on ethnic unity, exchanged cultural gifts and presented flags to youth basketball teams.

A youth basketball invitational tournament is at the heart of the program. Alongside the games, participants will visit digital and marine-themed museums, experience intangible cultural heritage, attend lectures by experts and explore sites including Ziyang Ancient Street and the Ancient City of Taizhou. Through sports, study, and interaction, the program aims to deepen mutual understanding and strengthen bonds among young people from different ethnic groups.
