More than 20 students from universities in 14 countries visited Anji county, Huzhou, Zhejiang province, on July 18, as part of an exchange program focusing on China's green development and cultural heritage.
The activity, titled "Understanding China in Zhejiang, Youth Connecting the World — International Students Exploring Zhejiang", was jointly organized by the Overseas-educated Scholars Association of China (Zhejiang Branch) and the China Studies Center at Zhejiang University.
At Yucun village in Tianhuangping town, participants learned how the village shifted from a mining-based economy to green development after adopting the concept that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets".
Through ecological restoration and rural development, the village is promoting the sustainable development of rural tourism.

The group also visited Dazhuyuan village, where they experienced the integration of traditional rural landscapes and modern creativity. At the "Bamboo as a Substitute for Plastic" Exhibition Center, they explored how bamboo is transformed into a wide range of sustainable products.
The three-day program included exchanges and visits in Hangzhou and Huzhou, providing a platform for young people from China and abroad to learn from each other and gain a closer look at Zhejiang's development practices.
