Guangdong Govy Tech Co, a low-altitude mobility technology company under GAC Group, signed an agreement on Sept 24 to establish its national smart-manufacturing headquarters for Govy AirCab in Taizhou, Zhejiang province.

Located in Taizhou Bay New Area, the project will cover 33.3 hectares, with an investment of 1 billion yuan ($148.93 million) in its first phase. Construction is scheduled to start in the fourth quarter. The first phase will cover about 7.33 hectares and include a production line with an annual capacity of 1,000 units, as well as facilities for key components, test flights, and testing.

The multi-rotor Govy AirCab has accumulated more than 2,000 prospective orders, according to the company. Zheng Jiaxiang, deputy general manager of the company, said Taizhou's industrial base, application scenarios, and business environment align with its development needs. The area also offers conditions for cross-sea and cross-island flight testing.

The project is expected to fill a gap in manned eVTOL manufacturing in Taizhou Bay New Area, which has more than 80 companies in the aerospace industry chain. It will help extend the area's aerospace industry chain from rockets, satellites, and drones to manned eVTOLs.
