Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province is advancing cross-border e-commerce integration in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region, following a recent shipment via Shanghai Pudong International Airport that marked its 10 millionth trans-regional export order.

This milestone order comprised goods worth $80,000, including 6,000 parcels processed under the cross-border e-commerce retail export model, which completed one-stop inspection at the Jiaxing Comprehensive Bonded Zone and were then shipped through Shanghai.

Under the model, companies can complete customs declarations and inspections locally, then transfer goods directly to air and sea ports. Compared with traditional procedures, clearance time has been reduced by about three hours, logistics costs cut by 25 percent, and transport capacity doubled.

Launched in September 2023, the model addressed limited export channels for Jiaxing's manufacturing sector. It now connects Jiashan county with major logistics hubs, including Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Nanjing, through seven multimodal routes.

Since its launch, the model has handled over 6,300 metric tons of goods, more than 3,500 transfer batches, and a daily parcel volume of 88,000, with total exports exceeding $280 million.

Jiaxing's total foreign trade has reached 84.54 billion yuan ($12.37 billion) in the first two months of this year, up 15.9 percent year-on-year, with cross-border e-commerce exports showing rapid growth.
