Strawberries from Pujiang county in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, were exported to Singapore on Feb 27 after passing inspection and quarantine at Jinhua Customs. Following the first shipment earlier this year, this export marks a significant step in expanding Pujiang's agricultural products in the international market.
The shipment includes several high-quality strawberry varieties known for their plump, juicy texture and rich flavor, all sourced from the Pujiang Xiaoguo'er Family Farm in Qianyu village. The "Yuexiu" variety, which boasts a high sugar content and a unique milky aroma, has been favored by many consumers.
To ensure the strawberries' freshness, Jinhua Customs and Pujiang government departments provided proactive support by establishing a "green channel" for agricultural product inspection, ensuring a "zero-delay" process from inspection to clearance.
The strawberries are expected to reach Singapore within 12 hours via direct flight and will soon be available in local supermarkets.
This signifies broadening avenues for farmers' income and industrial efficiency and contributes to promoting high-quality fresh agricultural products from central Zhejiang to Southeast Asia, supporting agricultural trade expansion under the Belt and Road Initiative.
