Lishui's economy maintained steady development from January to July 2026, with a clear trend toward high-quality and innovative growth.
Industrial production expanded quickly, with the city's value-added output from industrial enterprises above designated size increasing 10.2 percent year-on-year. The growth was driven primarily by emerging sectors: equipment manufacturing and core digital economy manufacturing rose 13.7 percent and 13.1 percent, respectively.
Consumer market growth picked up. Total retail sales of consumer goods reached 58.48 billion yuan ($8.69 billion), up 2.1 percent year-on-year. Online sales remained robust, with retail sales through public networks by enterprises above designated size hitting 6.27 billion yuan, a surge of 33.1 percent.
Fixed-asset investment dropped by 6.7 percent from a year earlier. By sector, high-tech investment rose 4.2 percent, manufacturing investment increased 3.0 percent, while infrastructure and real estate development investment fell 9.0 percent and 18.0 percent, respectively.
Exports maintained steady expansion. Total goods imports and exports amounted to 27.72 billion yuan, up 3.0 percent, with exports alone reaching 25.66 billion yuan, up 9.7 percent. Among major exports, electromechanical products grew 20.7 percent, steel grew 55.2 percent, and auto parts grew 62.1 percent.
Consumer prices rose moderately. In July, the urban consumer price index (CPI) edged up 0.8 percent year-on-year but fell 0.6 percent month-on-month. The average CPI for the first seven months stood at 1.0 percent higher than the same period last year.
