The per capita disposable income of residents in Huzhou reached 23,960 yuan ($3,506) in the first quarter of the year, representing a 5.9 percent increase year-on-year.
Breaking it down by area, urban residents' per capita disposable income stood at 27,364 yuan, up 5.3 percent, while that of rural residents climbed 6.5 percent to 18,341 yuan.
"Overall, the per capita wage, business, and property incomes of residents have maintained steady growth in the quarter, with transfer income growing more rapidly," said a representative from the Huzhou municipal survey team of the National Bureau of Statistics.
The data indicate that wages remain the primary source of income for residents. In the first quarter, the per capita wage income of residents was 12,613 yuan, up 5.8 percent.
Business income also showed stable growth, with per capita income from this source reaching 6,554 yuan, a 5.9 percent increase, making up 27.4 percent of disposable income and adding 1.6 percentage points to its growth.
Meanwhile, the per capita property income of residents rose by 4.7 percent to 1,907 yuan in the quarter.
Per capita transfer income of residents stood at 2,886 yuan, up 7.3 percent, showing the fastest growth among the four major income categories.
