Shaoxing's GDP reached 218.1 billion yuan ($30 billion) in the first quarter of 2026, marking a year-on-year growth rate of 6.7 percent and ranking third in Zhejiang province.
Primary industry's value added reached 4 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 4.2 percent; secondary industry's value added totaled 101.5 billion yuan, up by 7.2 percent; and tertiary industry's value added amounted to 112.5 billion yuan, increasing by 6.4 percent.
The value added of industries above a designated size grew by 11.6 percent year-on-year, with 29 sectors achieving growth, representing a growth rate of 82.9 percent. The value added of the equipment manufacturing sector, the core industries of the digital economy, and high-tech manufacturing increased by 17 percent, 16 percent, and 15.2 percent, respectively.
Retail sales of consumer goods reached a total of 83.5 billion yuan, up 2.2 percent year-on-year; the total import and export value amounted to 99.3 billion yuan, marking a 12.4 percent increase, with exports reaching 92.2 billion yuan, up 13.7 percent year-on-year.
Per capita disposable income of residents reached 26,841 yuan, reflecting a year-on-year growth rate of 5.5 percent. The income gap between urban and rural residents continued to narrow, with an urban-to-rural income ratio of 1.7.
