Zhejiang launches a Mulan Program to assist women in job trades

The 2nd Mulan Program, a public welfare project initiated by Zhejiang Women and Children’s Foundation (ZJWACF), was launched on April 8, 2019.

 

The program aims to provide vocational training, start-up support, law courses and other services to women with difficulties in job-hunting and starting businesses, female graduates in particular. All 50 students participated in the 1st Mulan Program in 2018 found satisfactory jobs.

 

Guided by Zhejiang Provincial Women’s Federation, ZJWACF, together with Zhejiang Women’s College, has launched the second training, attracting 100 trainees this year. Meanwhile, ZJWACF also calls for the engagement of more Zhejiang companies to jointly build a public welfare league, offering employment resources for female graduates.

 

“What we are doing is to upgrade women’s abilities of getting employed, create an inclusive and equal job market for women, and promote the development of women’s undertakings,” said Qiu Zhe, Deputy Director and Secretary General of ZJWCF.
