The Yunlong-1P, a medium-to-large fixed-wing drone independently developed by the Yangtze River Delta manufacturing base of JOUAV in Shaoxing's Yuecheng district, took off from Hongyuan Airport in Sichuan province at an altitude of 3,535 meters. The aircraft successfully carried out an artificial rain and snow enhancement mission, proving its ability to conduct routine operations in high-altitude environments.

Since JOUAV, known as China's first publicly listed drone company, established its manufacturing base in Yuecheng, it has built an integrated center for research, production, and testing. The Yunlong-1P is among its latest achievements. Designed with a twin-boom structure and propeller-driven power system, the drone combines flight stability, structural strength, and fuel efficiency. With a maximum takeoff weight of 1.2 metric tons, it is capable of operating in challenging environments such as plateaus and remote islands.

The aircraft also features a modular mission system, allowing it to switch between tasks such as weather modification, forest fire prevention, disaster monitoring, search operations, and communications relay.

From its maiden flight in January to mass production in May, the Yunlong-1P has rapidly entered large-scale manufacturing. With a production cycle of just 20 to 30 days per aircraft and an annual capacity of 15 to 20 units, the Shaoxing-built drone is helping make advanced large-scale UAVs more accessible for commercial use.
