The 2026 PONY International Asia-Pacific Zone Championship Tournament for the Bronco 11/12 division is underway at Xujiadai International Baseball Stadium in Xujiadai village, Lindai town, Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, marking the stadium's first international tournament.
PONY Baseball and Softball, founded in 1951, is one of the world's largest youth sports organizations, attracting more than 500,000 participants annually. The week-long championship features 12 youth baseball teams from across the Asia-Pacific region competing for a place in the world finals in the United States.
The decision to host the championship in Lindai was the result of years of cooperation between local organizers and the PONY league. Xia Yi, director of the China region of PONY Baseball and Softball, said he was impressed by the area's baseball facilities and event-hosting experience during his initial visit several years ago. The completion of the Xujiadai International Baseball Stadium in 2025 further strengthened this partnership.
Located in a rural setting surrounded by fields and village houses, the stadium has become a distinctive venue for youth baseball. Local organizers have prepared detailed services for participating teams, including transportation, accommodation, and special dining arrangements.
The tournament is part of broader efforts to develop Lindai into a leading destination for youth baseball, with more high-level events planned to strengthen the area's reputation and expand international sports exchanges.
