Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province has introduced a unified "one-card" system for foreign residents, streamlining access to 53 categories of services, including finance, transportation, and healthcare. This initiative aims to make life easier for the city's growing international workforce.

With nearly 4,000 foreign residents, including executives, researchers, and international students, Jiaxing is working to create an environment that supports long-term growth and innovation. The city is removing barriers between departments and systems to provide comprehensive support to international talent throughout their development.

For example, Malaysian student Ma Junjie, a graduate of Zhejiang University, founded a software company in Haining to help Chinese businesses expand overseas. He was impressed by Jiaxing's wide-ranging support, from policy consultations to business registration assistance.

To further support international talent, Jiaxing has established 22 service stations across the city to ensure convenient access to services in industrial parks and talent hubs.

As more global tech talent is attracted to Jiaxing, international teams are working together to drive innovation. Swedish elevator manufacturer Cibes Lift Group has set up a research and development center in Jiaxing Economic Development Zone, drawing expertise from countries like Brazil, the United States, and Sweden.

More multinational companies are setting up R&D centers in Jiaxing, with 24 provincial-level foreign-investment R&D centers already in place, accounting for over a quarter of the province's total. As Jiaxing's industrial sector continues to upgrade, international talent is playing an increasingly vital role in its growth.
