A shipment of 8.1 metric tons of farmed bass departed from Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, bound for Italy on Feb 11. This is the first time the city's farmed bass has been exported to the European Union, marking the official entry of local high-quality aquaculture products into the European market.

The bass, sourced from an export-registered farm and processed by Zhejiang Funday Food, meets EU food safety standards through strict quality control. The fish is prized for its firm texture and freshness.

Guo Xiufang, head of Zhejiang Funday Food, said the successful export of bass to the EU marks a significant breakthrough in the company's commitment to quality, standardization, and branding. He also acknowledged the crucial support from Taizhou Customs in policy guidance, compliance counseling, and streamlined clearance procedures during Spring Festival.

The export expands Taizhou's presence in the European market and sets a new benchmark for the city's aquaculture industry.

Taizhou Customs will enhance facilitation measures and strengthen quality assurance to help more high-quality products access international markets.
