Yunhe wooden toys are now reaching global markets faster and at lower cost thanks to a combined sea-rail route connecting Lishui's Songyang county to Ningbo-Zhoushan Port.
Yunhe county in Lishui, Zhejiang province, known as China's Wooden Toy City, now exports its wooden toys to over 80 countries. However, its mountainous location historically led to high logistics costs, unstable transport times, and unreliable services.
In 2025, the county launched the Songyang–Ningbo Zhoushan Port sea-rail route, creating an efficient and low-cost logistics system.
Compared to highway transportation, the sea-rail route eliminates repeated loading and unloading, short-haul transfers, and port delays, simplifying processes and reducing cargo damage risks. The stable service has lowered overall freight rates and strengthened export logistics for Yunhe's wooden toys.
A one-stop digital platform now offers booking, transport, customs clearance, overseas warehousing, and financing services.
Since the route opened, over 200 standard high-cube containers have been shipped, saving 300 to 500 yuan ($44.23 to $73.73) per container.
Moving forward, Yunhe county will further improve sea-rail services to help more local products reach international markets.
