Intertree Garden, a Chinese ornamental plant supplier based in Anji county, Huzhou, Zhejiang province, has secured a major contract in Uzbekistan to undertake a landscape renovation project for a 5-kilometer road leading to the presidential palace.

Fang Hua, the company's 36-year-old founder, said this project is not just about selling plants but also about spreading Chinese landscape design concepts globally.

Fang, who studied landscape design at university, founded the company in 2019 in his hometown of Anji, assembling a young team of 14 people to support him. At the time, the domestic ornamental plant market was reaching saturation, prompting Fang to look overseas.

Since 2020, Fang and his team have conducted extensive research across Central Asia, the Gulf nations, and the ASEAN countries, identifying a strong demand for urban development projects.

These regions, particularly Central Asia, often import plants from Europe but face challenges due to their arid climates and high-salinity soils. Chinese plants, known for their adaptability and supported by the team's design expertise, are well-suited to meet these needs.

In 2022, an initial order from Azerbaijan marked the company's entry into the international market. So far, Intertree Garden has exported over 20,000 plants to countries including Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, and Uzbekistan.

Fang plans to work with local suppliers to promote high-value products and establish overseas demonstration centers, showcasing Chinese horticultural excellence.
